Pet Care

Taking care of pets is what we do. Every day. For over 15 years. What started as helping a friend in a pinch has turned into a passion for caring for people’s pets as if they were our own. Unlike traditional pet sitting services we don’t limit our care to dogs and cats. Of course we love taking care of dogs and cats (especially the older ones with the grey in the muzzles!), but we also love taking care of bunnies, pet chickens, fancy rats and sheep. We are happy to discuss exotic animals on a case by case basis.

We care about your animals as much as you do, so we do have some requirements in terms of the number of visits per day. Animals need company and exercise, so we require a minimum of 3 visits per day for dogs and 1 visit per day for cats. For other animals, such as sheep or rabbits, we require a minimum of 2 visits per day.

In addition to giving them fresh food and water, we walk your dog or, if you have a fenced yard, will let them out. With the owner’s permission, we love taking dogs to the park or the tow path for longer walks and have even taken dogs on day trips to the beach for a fun day of play.

We will clean your cat’s litter and make sure they have fresh food and water, and will happily engage in play or snuggles if your kitty is up for it.

Overnight stays in your home are a convenient way to let your dog or cat stay in the comfort of their own home and avoid the anxiety that can come with a kennel stay.

Before our first visit, we ask that you complete an intake form that tells us about your pet, the feeding schedule and any health concerns or things we should be aware of to take care of your pet. We also require contact information for your veterinarian. We can administer medications to most animals and will work with your vet or a vet tech for more complicated issues such as shots or subcutaneous fluid..
